The large scale renewable generation such as photovoltaic (PV) and wind generation stations are increasing. Output power of such renewable energy sources is widely affected by weather conditions and their output tends to be fluctuating sharply and unstable. As a result, the penetration of the renewable stations make it difficult to maintain stability and frequency of power system.

VLI-EV’s Battery Energy Storage Systems with 3C to 6C charge and discharge capable battery modules enable suppression of such fluctuations to stabilize the grid with relatively small capacity amount. To reduce such short term fluctuations, TOSHIBA's Lithium Titanate Oxide SCiB™ are used, which measure more than 15,000 full cycle life at 3C charge and discharge rates.
